Railway, motoring or aviation collectables can be even more popular than the cars, trains and planes themselves. Railway collectables are a way to immerse yourself in the nostalgia of the time, this is forever moving forwards with Intercity 125 1980’s memorabilia being as popular as some steam era or Pullman items. As with anything, a story and provenance to back it up often helps to realise a good price, buyers wanting to know which station the poster was displayed at or which locomotive the nameplate was taken from and how it was purchased.

Car mascots and badges are a good way to display your favourite marques in the home, the obvious such as Rolls Royce are instantly recognisable but the Alvis hare or a Lalique opalescent glass example are equally sought after. Leaving the ground, a whole aircraft is often considered impractical but Concorde collectables right through to a WW1 four bladed laminated biplane aircraft propellor or a poster are all a way to own a piece of history.

The golden age of ocean liners and shipping including branded cutlery, postcards or even portholes and ships wheels, and well known lines such as Cunard and White Star provide the most sought after items.
