De-activated Guns

ON THIS PAGE

The market for deactivated guns has never been stronger, with huge interest from military history collectors, re-enactors and those who just want a great display piece that’s sure to be a talking point. Previous examples of some of the guns we have sold include Luger and Welrod pistols, Bren and Vickers machine guns, Webley revolvers, AK47 assault rifles and much more, with excellent prices achieved across the board.

The law for the sale of deactivated guns changed in 2018, which means every example sold must be deactivated to the new EU standard and be accompanied by a valid certificate. Frequently we come across guns deactivated prior to 2018, for which the specifications need to be upgraded and or certificates replaced. Harper Field can offer free advice on this and undertake any work necessary to allow a sale.

We are quite often asked ‘how much does it cost to deactivate a gun?’ and unfortunately there is no one answer to this question, because prices vary from gun to gun. Prices start from around £30, though - possibly less than you think, and all costs can be deducted from the eventual sale price, meaning there are no upfront payments to be made.

As well as offering de-activated guns for auction, we also offer a full de-activation service for those who wish to keep a gun but don’t want the hassle or responsibility of having a licence. If you have a gun that you wish to have professionally de-activated please get in touch for a free no obligation quote.
