We have all enjoyed scrutinising an old photograph or postcard of our home town or village, and it is this which inspires collectors of items in this category. Images of an event, view, landmark or resident can enhance our understanding of our local area and fascinate friends and family alike. 

In particular photographs of early world travels are always sought after, taken by the truly intrepid before overseas travel was commonplace, these show a world untouched by mass tourism and are quite simply fascinating.
