The cameras and photographic equipment department has grown dramatically over the last few years at Stroud Auctions as one of the more modern collecting areas. It includes all cameras, lenses, accessories, binoculars and telescopes from early 19thC plate cameras through to modern day DSLRs and video equipment. A recent sale highlight was two Dallmeyer lenses, picked out of a mixed bag of SLR camera parts by one of our specialists, which went on to sell for over £15,000 in total. There is a strong collecting field for many of the older cameras including Leica, Hasselblad and Mamiya but more recent SLR cameras are also very popular and due to our in house postage service items can sell to buyers across the world. Another unusual camera sold was a LeCoultre compass camera, designed to be the smallest 35mm camera and of amazing quality, it sold for £1,100, having been picked up at a car boot sale by the vendor, so please always bring your items for us to see, you never know what may be among them.
